~ the end of a friend in london ~

A bit over two years and nine months ago I heard this song for the first time. It was competing for Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest and I remember hearing it for the first time. I told everyone that I would rather see this one winning than seeing Eric Saade do it, even though I'm Swedish - that's how great I thought it was! The Eurovision week arrived and I got so happy when New Tomorrow made it through to the final. And I got so mad at all Swedish people going "it's such a ripoff from Andreas Johnson's Sing for me" but I really couldn't hear that! Fine, they were alike, but not that alike! A Friend In London ended up at 5th place and got 10 points from Sweden in the end, so I suppose "we" liked it even though it sounded so much like another song... haha!
A couple of weeks after the final I found out that A Friend In London - the band whose singer I fell madly in love with - were coming to Lotta på Liseberg in Gothenburg! To say that I freaked out is an understatement! So that was like 3 months ahead in time but I already started to get excited about it. The summer passed and I was going to see AFIL one day later when Danny Saucedo posted something at his dayviews that I commented on, asking him if he could get me AFIL's autographs, since they all were att Lotta på Liseberg at the same time. He said he'd fix it haha, and that made me even more excited!
The day arrived, the long waiting started, dress rehearsal came - and Tim saw my sign the first thing he did when he walked onto the stage! Later on they filmed this "commercial" thingy that was supposed to be aired 30 minutes before the show - and I can see how Tim and Danny sit by the piano, discussing me - probably the most surreal thing that has ever happened to me! Finally got to meet Tim after the show and it was just mindblowing. If I didn't like him before I surely did it after <3 Only two days after the show I joined twitter just to be able to talk more to this dude, and he became one of my first followers there. He gave me new friends for life - and I have to say it, I was a bit crazy at that time! I even think so writing this back haha!
I thought this whole "meeting them again" would be impossible since they weren't Swedish, but then in February/March somewhere the news were revealed - A Friend In London were gonna be the support act to NKOTBSB in Europe!!! I didn't have any ticket at that time, so I pretty much gave up since I were 100% sure that the tickets were sold out. It turns out that they weren't, and I started planning a roadtrip to Malmö! Days, weeks, months flew by and it was concert time again! Was standing front row, as always, and yeah - it was an epic experince! AFIL did 6 songs or something and then they told us that they'd be at the merch stand in a while - so it was goodbye front row NKOTBSB and HELLO AFIL! Tim remembered me, and that was crazy for me! Those things he did and said there made it worthy leaving my front row spot!
Two months later it was time for a roadtrip again, but this time outside of Sweden! A Friend In London were doing a huge show at Tivoli in Copenhagen and myself and a couple of friends decided to go. Ended up being awake for 22 hours, meeting lots of FRIENDs from all around the world and having an epic time! Alright, not everything was epic.. HAHA! When we stood up in front of stage after sitting in front of it for like 9 hours it turns out that the people working with the event had placed a gigantic camera right in front of me! Haha, what are the odds?! So I barely saw anything of the show, but I heard it and it was amazing <3
Six months later it was time for a release party for AFIL's debut album, and I had to be there - as always. It was a cozy event with not too much people and lots of great memories :) I will forever be the first Swedish girl to own their debut album haha. Lovely album, lovely band, lovely day.
And the last time I met them was this summer. I went to Tim's hometown with four other girls to attend a album recording thingy for three days. It was amazing spending time with them when it actually was just us pretty much. Just like hanging with old friends, no fan/idol thing going on - well at least not that much haha ;)

And today it has all come to an end. A Friend In London has dicided to quit as a band for real, even though Esben and Aske quit already a year ago.. and to be frank, I've seen it coming ever since then, but I still got a bit teary when I read the news. You always hope that you're wrong when it comes to things like these. You never want a band whom you love should quit. First it was Westlife, and then it was EMD (even though they still haven't "put it out there" yet, but my guts tells me so) and now its A Friend In London. Guess all good things come to an end.

Tim, if you read this. I just wanna say a big thank you for what you've done to me, and for what you've given me. I'm forever thankful, and I'm excited to see what the future will bring. I will stand by your side.
Jeg elsker dig skat, always and forever <3
